B is for the big bass with utmost precision.
R is for that thing that our beats have called rhythm.
I is what you need, just we call it intuition.
S is that sound so turn it up and listen.
T is for that track once we lay it down it glistens.
O is for no ordinary extraordinary vision.
L is for the love of the music when I’m spendin I’m gettin that tunnel vision when our beats are hittin!
Tune of the day goes to the track I’ve had almost on a constant loop for the past 2 weeks. SERIOUS drum & bass from Danny Byrd’s ‘B.R.I.S.T.O.L (feat MC Risky). Would give my left testicle to see this guy play a set, hopefully one of these days.
Tune of The Day No.3 goes to one of my favourite tracks of last year, a tune that I still have on repeat since last summer, Bondax - All Inside. I am genuinely ridiculously excited about seeing this producing/DJ duo since missing them in The Button Factory, Dublin late last year. June Bank Holiday weekend couldn’t come quick enough in all fairness. I know what I’ll be spending my dole back money on hahaha.
Tune of the day No.2 goes to Le Galaxie - Orion (feat. Channel One) My favourite track off their debut album ‘Laserdisc Nights 2’. I have managed to catch these guys live once, supporting Hadouken! back in 2010 and their sound was better than the headlining act’s. Despite numerous opportunities since, I haven’t been able to catch them live again, but as a big fan and follower I’ll make it my mission to on June 1st.
In celebration of a great Forbidden Fruit Festival line-up this year I’m doing a 3 parter Tune Of The Day. And first up goes to Kasabian - ID. One of their best tracks in my opinion and seeing them this year will be my 4th time, a truly epic band to see live.
Tune of the day goes to Blur’s Coffee and TV. Seems fitting after they have confirmed their first headline gig in Dublin since ‘99 and their first show in Ireland since they headlined Oxegen festival 4 years ago. They play the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Kilmainham, Dublin on August 1st.
